Completing Your Studies

Congratulations — you’re nearly there. Here’s how to wrap things up smoothly as you finish your course and prepare to head home.

Preparing to return home

  • Decide what to keep, sell, donate or discard.
  • Compare shipping options — air freight, sea mail or excess baggage — for cost and timing.
  • Check your home country’s customs rules for electronics and personal items.

For shipping advice, contact Student Support at international@evantaa.edu.au.

Travel & documents

Make sure your passport and visa are valid, and keep your offer letter and eCoE with you. Book flights early for better fares (typically AUD $500–$2,000 depending on destination), and check your airline’s baggage limits (usually 23–30 kg checked, 7 kg carry-on).

Household & finances

  • Notify your landlord, return your keys, and request your rental bond refund.
  • Pay any outstanding bills and disconnect utilities before you leave.
  • Close or transfer your bank account, and keep digital records.
  • Lodge your tax return and give the ATO your home address for any refund.

Saying goodbye

Sell larger items via Gumtree or Facebook Marketplace, donate the rest, and arrange for a friend to forward any mail. Thank your host family, catch up with friends, and swap contact details to stay in touch.
